Doesn’t sound that unreasonable for replacing pads and discs. Would have thought a couple of hours labour £100? plus parts £100?1

Front pads and discs done on my old car (yaris) came to £200 total. This was beginning of 2021 so yeah the price you have been quoted is reasonable1

Thank you for the replies. First time having to sort the car myself and very green. Just wanted to know I wasn't being unfairly charged, as I really wouldn't know if I was.

Sounds like VFM to me.
NB: If you have wear indicators please check they are inc in the price1 -
Next time, look up the price of parts at halfords/eurcaparts etc and if parts were ten quid the rest would be about and vat and this will make it easier for you to work out as all drivers have some basic knowledge of what is where.DeeL123 said:Thank you for the replies. Is the garage a Main Dealer or an independent , price of parts from Eurocar is about £40 a disc and £30 for pads plus labour.0

Wear indicators? What are they and how much should it cost? All stuff I need to learn. I have to let the garage know in the morning but it's a bit difficult asking about things you have no idea about. Thank you for the help.diystarter7 said:Sounds like VFM to me.

1 hour labour max plus parts. Check price of parts on eurocarparts. Some garages are crafty and charge eurocarpart full prices without discount"The Holy Writ of Gloucester Rugby Club demands: first, that the forwards shall win the ball; second, that the forwards shall keep the ball; and third, the backs shall buy the beer." - Doug Ibbotson0

They are however free to charge whatever they wish.dipsomaniac said:1 hour labour max plus parts. Check price of parts on eurocarparts. Some garages are crafty and charge eurocarpart full prices without discount1
