Meaco Arete One dehumidifier

Does anyone have a Meacodry Arete one 12L dehumidifier. I managed to get one delivered a couple of days ago and whilst it does work well I don't think it's as quiet as they (the manufacturer) seem to make out.
It's advertised with a noise level of 35 and 38 dB, depending on the fan speed but to me it sounds louder. There's no way I could be in the same room with it running. I know noise monitor apps on the phone aren't accurate but the ones I downloaded and ran says the level was 46+ dB.

I have one.
It tends to run on the higher fan speed as being in the West of Scotland the ambient air RHI tends to be very high to start with.
I can be in the same room with mine with TV on (turned up a couple of points on the vol scale) or indeed I can sleep with it on.
It has previously been suggested that it is quieter without the HEPA filter installed.
If I get a chance I will try to download a noise monitor app. - any suggestions (Android)?0 -
I've got one. It does run quieter without the air filter in it but even with it in I could easily stay in the same room with it. What app have you recorded 46+ decibels on and I'll download it and test mine."a workman, even of the lowest and poorest order, if he is frugal and industrious, may enjoy a greater share of the necessaries and conveniences of life than it is possible for any savage to acquire."0

@shiraz99
Tested mine with Sound Meter and stood approx a metre away from the Arete, it was between 38-40 decibels. It actually made no real difference replacing the air filter either.
Sound Meter has that illustrated as between a 'whisper' and a 'quiet library'.
My tumble dryer records 58 decibels and above on the other hand.
