Scottish Power Smart Meter messages

I had a "Smart" meter installed by Scottish Power a couple of months ago.

All is well, but the most aggravating thing about it is that it persistently sends me messages "welcoming me to the benefits of smart metering". No matter how many times I accept the message, read it and then delete it, a couple of days later another encelope icon appears on the display. Every time I look at the message I open it with anticipation, only to find yet another "welcome" note.

Scottish Power (as usual) are less than reluctant to acknowledge this issue, much less do anyhting about it.

Surely I can't be the only one out there who is in the same boat? If anyone knows how to cure this behaviour, could they please let me know?
