Has Mr A been in touch regarding the missed delivery? I hope they offer decent compensation.

I found moving house after 20 years very cathartic. I viewed a lot of ‘stuff’ as what would the chaps do with it if I’d croaked and that helped me to let go of a lot of stuff. With another move pending I feel that there is more items to depart the house. OH is more inclined to hang onto stuff so sometimes I do feel resentful that I’m making all the sacrifices.LTotal Debt Dec 07 £59875.83 Overdrafts £2900,New Debt Figure ZERO !!!!!!:j 08/06/2013

Good luck streamlining Lucielle.

Thanks Beanie and WD
Well DD is back on the idea of moving out so has halved her payment suddenly. I then told her I may put the house on the market... Interesting times...
So operation tart up and declutter is in full swing starting in the morning. I need to arrange some valuations so I have a date to aim for.
I need to focus on building up my savings for moving so may not have a summer holiday while I work out my plans.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Very exciting times ahead.
Your garden is looking lush, very green and there'll be food on your plate from it in no time.
Until DD does move out, she shouldn't be cutting the rent money down, so keep on top of that.
The cake looked yummy. I would have sliced down the middle, created two smaller halves, sticking them back together with the topping 🤭

Agree that DD shouldn't be reducing her payment unless it's a mutual decision."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee5

I'm mindful it's an online diary - so trying not to say too much about how I feel about that and anything I may have said... If she moves out it may make my own move go more smoothly as it removes the need for her to sign a form when I sell. However, it does give me impetus to follow my own dreams - to somewhere more rural. I also want to get some appointments booked in for valuations and that way I know better what budget I'm likely to be working with.
I am going to have to get radical on my house as I'm likely to pay movers this time (we've self moved with friends in the past). I don't want to pay to move carp or be stuck with too many delayed decisions. There's a collapsing desk in DS's room that can go to the tip next time the handyman comes. I'm going to leave photos boxed and not worry about them. Similarly - I'd just move my decades worth of journals boxed up. It's the other random things I have that I need to deal with - the ones with many multiples. It will depend a lot whether I end up going to a smaller place or similar sized when I move. There may be other furniture I could let go. I will also need to let go of some of my craft projects as I have sooooo many - and just keep the best and just see the others as practice pieces. I'm a big fan of the cubed units - so a lot of my stuff is already in some kind of fabric box. The room of doom, the shed and the garage will be the top hot spots for decluttering - and whatever I hid in DS's room when he moved out!
I also need to do my day job. I'm very aware that in moving even though I mostly WFH it's also loosening some of my ties with work as it will make getting to work harder. That could have longer term repercussions or blessings.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Sounds like you've got itchy feet and are thinking seriously about moving house - very exciting. The post-divorce time frame of a 18 months/a couple of years is sensible, gives you time to settle into your new life and decide how and where you want to live your future.Last time I moved house I found the kitchen the hardest room to pack - I had some many gadgets, gizmos, pots, pans, baking tins etc etc. in advance of moving I packed up and diligently labelled 3 boxes of kitchen paraphernalia and a few years later I still haven't opened them nor missed their contents. So in my latest round of de-cluttering I'm now working out what to do with the stuff! and that definitely doesn't include bringing any of the stuff back into the kitchen however tempted I will be by being reunited with a coleslaw making gadget etc etc 🤦♀️The valuations will be based on a number of factors and so whilst you want the place to look as good as it can you can balance your time and effort for first phase of valuation and then have another burst of activity ahead of photos and viewings. I expect the valuation figures will help you greatly in your planning and searching for potential areas to live.7
