Hi
currently looking to get solar panel and battery system installed
had recent quote
14 x Trina 395 black monocrystaline panels
3.6k lux hybrid inverter
2 x greenlinx 3.2 kwh battery system
all fitted with documents completed, warranties etc.., HIES warranty
MCS registered company
£12395
is this reasonable and fair price as I have had similar priced quotes from 3 other companies, and thinking of going with this one
not heard of greenlinx batteries, but got 10 yeear warranty
panels have 15 year warranty and 25 yr performance warranty
estimated payback, break even in year 7-8
thanks for any feedback

You've probably answered your own question.

Yes, I was thinking that as I typed it, but wondering if prices are going up or is this standard quotes from large companies0

thanks for any feedbackMy only question would be regarding the estimated break-even point. Obviously it can vary enormously depending on your location, usage patterns, and a whole host of other variables. Your estimate sounds a tad optimistic - did that come from the companies providing the quotes, or from your own research? If that's an accurate estimate then it sounds like a no-brainer. My niggling worry with anything like this, though, is that you'll never get your money back - it'll need replacing before it's paid for itself. If you've done the research and done your own sums then great - but it's a heck of an outlay if you'll never recoup the cost.

HI, it was from the prediction from installer
a new quote estimated payback at 6 years , based on smaller initial cost and same solar generation as the initial quote
dilemma is go with very large company, not heard of batteries or inverter, but better insurance and established feedback
or, relatively new company, cheaper, well known batteries and inverters, also neighbour has install from them and had no problems

My advice keep your money in a high interest account. You'll easily make £500 a year at current rates.0
