£900 cost of living payment 2023/2024

No details yet from the DWP on when these new low income £900 COL payments and the other COL payments will be made in 2023/2024. I was thinking though, do you think they will pay the first in Spring 2023? then the second in Autumn 2023? then the last one in winter 2024?

Might just have been easier to increase the amount you get in the April benefit upgrade.

E.g. £150/52 to get your weekly additional amount

This would save a huge amount in administrating payments

Which ever way you do it, there’s pros and cons.

We saw uproar when the temporary Covid £20 was removed, and i would say the same thing would happen if the added the COL payment as suggested.

Equallly those who then loose their benefits would not get the full amount, and there is an impact on those joining afterwards, do they then qualify for the COL extra?
