Tesco PCN - Failure to validate parking

Options
Hi All,

The keeper received a PCN for an alleged overstay or failure to validate parking at Tesco. The letter does not contain much information about the contravention so the keeper looked online at the PPC's evidence and notes the arrival time was 12:29 and exit time 14:22, which is well under the 3 hours of permitted parking time. The keeper can only assume the driver forgot to validate parking.

The keeper has done a forum search and would like to confirm the keeper appeals with blue text and adds the following:-

As your Parking Charge Notice does not comply with the requirements of the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012 (Schedule 4), you are, in law, unable to hold the registered keeper of the vehicle liable for the parking charge; I suggest therefore that you contact the driver. As there is no legal requirement placed on the registered keeper to identify the driver, I will not be doing so.

Is this correct?

Many thanks.

PDJAM

Well done on your research. It makes things so much easier for the regulars on this forum when posters do exactly what you have done before appealing.

  • Always difficult to understand why Tesco employ parking scammers, total disrespect to customers.

Like many many people, DO NOT USE TESCO, with parking scammers at large your weekly shop will cost you another £100

Easy when you know how! Nicely done.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
