Unrecognised transaction - "PURCH PROMOTION DEBIT COR"

Options
I opened a new Virgin Money credit card with 23 months 0% APR introductory rate last month.
I noticed a transaction from a few days ago which I don't recognise:

PURCH PROMOTION DEBIT COR
£921.00
RECTION

I'm concerned I've been victim of credit card fraud.

I also have a Virgin card and would advise you to get in touch with them asap, using details as given by grumbler in the link above.

Anytime you don't recognise or understand anything, do get in touch with them so they can sort it immediately.

That reads like they have made correction to your account, but contact them to confirm

    Would agree with @JCS1
    Reads like a correction.
So do you have a £921.00 debit on the account?

But do give them a call & they will explain it. 👍

I couldn't get through during my lunch hour. But I contacted them on Twitter.

    Ask Virgin Money
    @AskVirginMoney

Our system is doing some updates in the background and it's purging some of our customers accounts manually which can show the above. This doesn't effect your account in any way besides seeing the adjustment.

    Me

Okay I was concerned it was a fraudulent transaction. I don't understand why there has been a correction on my account especially for such a large amount.

    Ask Virgin Money @AskVirginMoney

It's our system allocating the payments which brings up this message, it can be for one transaction or a combination of them. Rest assured, there's nothing you need to do and your account is not effected in any way.

This still doesn't make sense to me. I still don't understand why there is such a large correction on my account. At lease I know it's not fraud.

Did it really have any effect on your balance and available balance?
  • I can't tell until the next statement is issued.

Why? For all my CCs I can see the last statement balance, the recent transactions,  the current balance and the available funds. Everything else isn't a rocket science, especially for such a big amount as £900ish.
