How do I mirror from laptop/phone to my TV?

Options
Hi

I have an Android phone (Samsung), and a Windows 10 laptop. I also have a fairly new (2 year old) LG tv.

Id like to mirror the screen on either device to my TV. On my old iphone it had a mirror feature built into the phone and it was as easy as clicking a  button. But I dont see an option anywhere on either my phone or laptop to do similar. Is it possible?

Thanks

The phone is Samsung 9+ (Android v10), and the laptop is a Dell Lattitude 5520.

Right click on blank desktop on W10 PC
    Select 'display settings'
scroll down to 'connect to a wireless display'
Should be fairly intuitive after that

Ah! Fantastic, Ill give that a go! I presume that works over bluetooth so Ill need to make sure the TVs bluetooth is enabled.

Ive done a bit further googling and it seems I cant 'cast' my mobile screen unless I get a chromecast? Odd, this functioanlity was part of iOS. Perhaps Im wrong.
  • Hi,
did you try Smartview on your phone, used to be called mirroring, should find it in the Quick settings?

Note that the smart TV and phone/computer need to be on the same WiFi. As I found out when I couldn't mirror to my TV connected by cable!  :)

That is annoying I find, especially as there is no logical reason for it

I think it uses Wi-Fi (?) not tried Bluetooth on my TV or PC
