NSPCC will pass to LA to investigate; they have no powers to do so.
Mama read so much about the dangers of drinking alcohol and eating chocolate that she immediately gave up reading.

I made a couple of calls yesterday afternoon and I am satisfied that I have done what I can, certainly for the moment anyway.
I contacted the local authority who were very good and also the NSPCC as someone suggested here.  I had to answer lots of questions and speak to a few different people but I do feel like I was listened to so hopefully it will be dealt with accordingly.

Well done. I'd only ask you to report further incidents as and when (if) they occur, even if only for your own peace of mind. As others have said, it builds a picture for the authorities if nothing else.

Thank you so much for reporting, I was horrified when I read your OP.  I expect they made you jump through hoops with all the questions just to make sure that you weren't a malicious caller (it's so sad that we even have such things).

Always better to be safe than sorry, so many young children are harmed, abused and killed by their caregivers.
