Tesco Delivery slots

I just went on to book my weekly shop for week 20-26 December just after midnight that I do every week and every slot in the week have gone even priority slots, either there is a glitch or someone possibly has inside info - this is not fair on the disabled who can not get out.

It's not a glitch that was the situation discussed on here a week ago

Obviously it's Christmas as you know, Brussels will be gone soon like the time toilet rolls were in huge demand

I know it's Christmas (people are supposed to have less this year) I have done the same every year for many years without a problem which is why I think Tesco release 6 weeks of slots - the priority slots are supposed to be for people like me who can't get out. It is possibly time to try another supermarket for use year round.

Tesco advertised slots would be available to book 6 weeks before Christmas. There were complaints on here Tesco had opened them early.

Although I am a long term delivery saver for Tescos, all Christmas week slots gone by the evening of the day it opened. I did however manage to get an Asda slot, but that was £6.50 delivery!

The Xmas slots were gone on the day they became available which was last week. The website crashed as so many were trying to book so I’m really not surprised that you couldn’t get a slot a week after they became available.

So it’s not a glitch, it’s just that demand was high.

Allegedly non delivery saver/non priority slots become available today so you may be lucky although I bet they have all gone by now sadly .

    Good luck

I don’t have my groceries delivered anymore, but I used to have a recurring slot every Saturday morning, which wouldn’t be affected by this “unexpected” inconvenience called Christmas.

If you can find a neighbour to help, consider a click and collect order if they're available. Much easier to get what you want than sending them with a list!

I got my slot when they released them last week. I needn't have scrambled, as my local Tesco has slots available every day in the run up to Christmas right now. No use to you, but hopefully help put your mind to rest about conspiracies - they've just misjudged the demand for slots in your area, so they're all gone very quickly.

They haven't misjudged it - they knew the slots would sell out really quickly, hence the extensive communication about when they would be released.  The reality is that demand is much higher in Christmas week: more people want to buy online because they're busy doing other things and/or they don't want to go to the supermarkets when they're heaving; orders are bigger so fewer customers' shopping can be fitted in a van.  But it wouldn't be profitable for Tesco to maintain a fleet of extra vans to be used one week a year.
