National insurance contribution increased instead of decreased this month

Hi, hoping soneone can help - not sure this is the right board but wasn't sure where else to post!
I got paid on Friday, and noticed that my national insurance contribution increased, rather than decreased after the rise reversal on 6th November. Not by a huge amount and my pay hasn't changed in any other way, but is there any conceivable reason why this would happen? I was expecting a small increase in income, not a decrease!

No one can help unless you post the details from your payslip.0

Hi, so my tax code is 1257L. Usually I pay £367.87 in NI, and this month it was £375.29. No other changes to my salary, tax or pension contributions.0

What's your "gross pay for NI"?
Edit: And pay frequency?

Gross pay is £48,308.04, paid monthly (£4,025.67 per month). I contribute 5% pension through salary sacrifice as well.0

NI should have been around £333.12 on a £3824.38 gross pay. £367.87 was correct for the previous month.

Thanks, so I need to ask my employer(?) why my NI is incorrect.1

Yes. Please come back and let us know what they say.
I suspect you work for a company that has bespoke payroll software and someone has made a huge error when programming in the change in NI rate.

I'm not getting a response from my employer, grrrr. If it was my employer's mistake, does anyone know if I would have to claim back via HMRC or could my employer correct it in my next pay packet?0

It should be up to your employer to sort it,Gazelle1985 said:I'm not getting a response from my employer, grrrr. If it was my employer's mistake, does anyone know if I would have to claim back via HMRC or could my employer correct it in my next pay packet?

For some reason NI has been charged at exactly 13.5%!Dazed_and_C0nfused said:
