How many dehumidifiers/air purifiers do I need?

Hi all
I live in a small 2 bedroom house. Living and kitchen downstairs, separated by a door. Upstairs we have 2 bedrooms and a bathroom. There is no door in the tiny hallway leading to the living or upstairs.
Colds and sniffles are a constant thing throughout the year so I'm thinking of investing in a dehumidifier (to help combat damp and mould) and an air purifier. I was initially thinking of getting one for each bedroom. However, I was reading reviews online and some said you can put a large one in a mutual place (probably stair landing) and it should do the entire house.
Any thoughts? Just can't see having one doing both levels, especially an air purifier when the bedroom doors are closed. Could do one big one in the landing and smaller ones in the bedrooms.

It all depends on how much moisture needs to be removed and how long you would keep it running. Start by a medium size and see how quickly it fills up. Move it between rooms when the filling time becomes slower

Do you have a damp problem? Just wondering why a dehumidifier. Now a gainfully employed bassist again - WooHoo!0

We have a dehumidifier that said it was suitable for rooms of up to 35m2. It happily dealt with our entire flat which was 45m2 floor space, although we rarely closed the internal doors.0

Not a major one. We get quite a bit of condensation in the bedrooms. This was previously encouraging mould, especially in the second bedroom. A bit less of a problem in one of the rooms since we changed the windows. Still an issue in the main bedroom.RobM99 said:Do you have a damp problem? Just wondering why a dehumidifier.0 -
Try a dehumidifier with an inbuilt air purifier. The Meaco ones are pretty good and pretty cheap to run, you just need one big enough for your household. https://www.meaco.com/collections/arete1
