Abandoning unfunded ISA application

I applied for a 1 year cash ISA with Aldermore then found an better rate. Is it OK just to let the account expire due to being unfunded, or do I need to do anything? Aldermore has a 'close account' option, but this doesn't work if the balance is zero.

If you didn't pay anything into it then you don't need to do anything and are free to pay into another one instead.0

Thanks for the replies. Out of courtesy I will email them then go ahead with funding my other application.
