Abandoning unfunded ISA application

I applied for a 1 year cash ISA with Aldermore then found an better rate. Is it OK just to let the account expire due to being unfunded, or do I need to do anything? Aldermore has a 'close account' option, but this doesn't work if the balance is zero.
