Spotted this Mince Pie Gelato while out and about yesterday. If the weather hadn't been sub-zero I might have tried it (in the interests of research, of course...)

Yum ! Now that is a thing of beauty
I am unconvinced any enjoyment outweighs the calories though.

Mince pies with cheesy pastry sounds vile. And I love mince pies, and eat them with cheese. How have they managed to ruin that?! :(
Is the cheese they use cream cheese rather than a Cheddar or Stilton type?  That makes a huge difference.  Pastry made with cream cheese is lovely
  • I don't know how they make them, first I heard of them was this thread.

I've not had cream cheese pastry, well not knowingly anyway, so I can't comment
    Honi swanky malyponze. Or something.

No - I agree that would be much nicer.  They use a combination of Cheddar, Emmental and "Italian hard cheese".  Ick!

Not a Christmas flavour as such, but this weekend I came across Sainsbury's sticky toffee pudding granola...

Cream cheese is quite often used in chocolate truffle recipes so presumably the cheese flavour doesn't prevail.

Just seen turkey & stuffing scented candles in Aldi... reduced now

They also had Christmas pudding & brandy butter scented candles which just smell like mulled spice. Fine for the shoeboxes @ 79 pence. (Half price) actually smell rather good

Actually the turkey & stuffing candles smell of nothing in particular , so bought the last 2 for my shoeboxes.
The  pigs in blankets scented candles   were... a bit gross. Who needs a bacon scent wafting through the air??!! Left on shelf.

I'd rather eat those than the cheesy mince pies.
