Hi,

Just checked my Barclays card and got a 0% purchase offer. Will I get charged a cash advance fee if I use the card to top up Paypal? Will Paypal charge me a fee for using the cc to top up my balance?

Would be nice topping up Paypal, use f&f payment and put into savings :-)

Anyone experience?

I don't know for definite, but I think you will.  Don't do it unless you know you won't get charged.

I don't think it's possible to "top up" a PayPal account using a card is it? You have to send money to someone or pay for a purchase.

top up is maybe the wrong word

I think the idea is if you have £0 in your paypal account you could send an amount to your significant others paypal account by friends and family (no fees), paypal then pull the money from the card to send from your account.

not sure if we ever got an answer as to whether the barclaycard call this a purchase or a cash withdrawl.
  • I opted for slow stoozing in the end as I deemed it too risky so haven't tried.
