New to IMovie and a YouTube question

I have some videos on Imovie and find that I now seem unable to write text on any of them.  The only explanation I can think of is that ّI have too many “projects”
Does that seem likely?
They are for eventual upload to YouTube but they are not quite ready.
Is it possible to edit once they have gone onto YouTube?

No it doesn't seem likely. Try a YouTube search for iMovie tutorials

Thanks Mike. I have looked and can find nothing. I might go to the apple shop tomorrow.  I must have switched something

Your best bet is Apple Store but make a Genius Bar appointment on line

I just done a google search for adding text to iMovie, there are plenty of videos showing you different methods

Are you doing it on a Mac or an iPad. You need to put ‘titles’ into the timeline, they slot onto the top of the videoclip in the timeline.and there are some settings to move the position if you are not happy with the default.

I have managed to do this now.
For some reason I could not edit any of the titles in videos I had previously titled nor put titles on new videos.  It seems to have rectified itself.
God knows what I had done!

I have just realised something.  You cannot edit titles on videos unless there is some sound on the movie.  Weird!
