Stitch Oxford is celebrating the 10th anniversary of Oxford Yarn Store by inviting everyone of all ages and ability to knit, stitch, crochet or weave a single 20cm x 20cm square inspired by something that represents or symbolises Oxford for you.
Any material or method can be used so it's perfect to use up those leftover craft materials or ends of balls! Just make sure the edge/border of your square can be sewn to another square.
All squares entered will be stitched into blankets to be auctioned to raise money for The Oxford Food Hub
Each entry will receive a free limited edition anniversary tote bag and be entered into a competition to win these fab prizes!
Knit, stitch, crochet or weave a single 20cm x 20cm (8inch) square depicting something that represents or symbolises Oxford for you. Its that simple!
Any material or method can be used to make your square, however the edge/border of your square must be able to be sewn to another square.
The Prizes
Our 2 age category winners will receive prizes worth over £300 each, and 4 runners-up will receive prizes worth over £50. The categories are:
• 16 and under
• 17 and over
Entries will be shortlisted by our very own James Edwards. Then our very special, invited judge, Linda Ivell of @knitting4victory, will select a winner and 2 runners up in each category.
Closing date for entries 6pm Saturday December 10th
Winners will be announced on 17th December
How to enter
Get stitching! Then enclose your completed square with this entry form in a strong envelope and drop it off.
If you can’t make it to us in person then you can post your entry using the following address.

Terms and Conditions
The Competition closes on December 10th 2022 and all entries must be received by 6pm December 10th .
Competition entries: ‘Squares’ will be used to create blankets to be auctioned to raise money for The Oxford Food Hub. Squares cannot be returned to the entrants
Employees, any family members, officers and directors of Oxford Yarn Store (the Promoter) any of their affiliates, contractors or agencies are not eligible to enter Oxford Yarn Store’s ‘Stitch Oxford’ competition.
Any entries that the Promoter considers (in our absolute discretion) to be fraudulent, offensive, indecent, illegal, racist, copied, cruel or infringe on the rights or copyright of others will be immediately disqualified.
The Promoter reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value
Winner Notification: The winners and runners up will be notified by email or phone via the details provided.
It is the responsibility of the entrant to provide correct, up-to-date details when entering the promotion and acceptance of the prize. The Promoter cannot be held responsible for winners failing to supply accurate information which affects prize acceptance or delivery of their prize.
The Promoter’s and their nominated judges’ decisions are final and binding. No correspondence will be entered into. Entry implies acceptance of these terms and conditions.
Prizes must be accepted as offered by the named winners and runners up. There is no cash or alternative prizes, in whole or part. The prizes are not transferable and cannot be resold.
The Promoter reserves the right to verify winners and runners up and ask for proof of identity, age and address and to withdraw prize entitlement where there are reasonable grounds to believe there has been a breach of these terms and conditions.
The name of the winners and runners up can be obtained by sending an email, 28 days after the prize promotion closing date, to info@oxfordyarn.com
The Promoter reserves the right to cancel, amend, withdraw, terminate or temporarily suspend this promotion in the event of any unforeseen circumstances or technical reason outside its reasonable control, with no liability to any entrants or third parties but will use all reasonable endeavors to avoid consumer disappointment.
The Promotion and these terms and conditions, and any disputes arising therefrom, shall be subject to English law and the exclusive jurisdiction of the English and Welsh Courts.
Data Protection: Any personal information that entrants share with the Promoter will be kept secure and only used in line with these terms and conditions unless the entrant has opted into future marketing from the Promoter. By entering the promotion, entrants agree that their information may be used by the Promoter to administer the promotion and winners consent to give their name and county for the winners’ list.
