Have you checked your entitlement https://www.gov.uk/check-state-pension.

This will show if you have any missing years and explain about paying for them if you want to.

if you reach 66 next month you should have received a letter inviting you to claim or defer.

There are multiple amounts shown on your forecast.  The amount you will currently get based on your recorded contributions is the second on the list.  The third is the amount you could get by filling past gaps. The top line is the second amount plus anything available going forward.  21-22 is the final year that will count so when that is credited your pension amount should be that second amount plus £5.28. If it has not been credited by the time you start receiving your pension it will eventually be added and anything due from the date of your retirement will be paid as a lump sum.  The reason that top line has gone down is because there are no more available years going forward and the latest year has not been credited, the second line will be the same as last year uprated for inflation  When your pension amount is actually calculated to be paid - there are gnomes sitting in offices crunching numbers and checking your records to produce your actual award letter - the missing year will likely be sorted.  That is why your forecast is a bit vague stating "this is an estimate".  Have you received your invitation and applied for the pension ?  If so have you received your award letter ?

I’m on hold to the pension line at the moment as I’m in much the same position. Worried that the wording on the latest version of the pension forecast has changed so that it no longer says can top up  but the voluntary contribution I made for last year is still not showing. Is this the same for you OP?
