2 X PCN's, 1 X Newborn & 14 days

Hello everyone - I've receive not 1 but 2 PCN's 2 days apart for separate 'offences' from LPS (BPA Member). 5 and 7 days ago respectively.
Long story short I pay via the RingGo app, but had difficulties with it and ended up being around 20mins late on top ups. Turns out they have a guy there patrolling on an almost permanent basis. I have screenshots of the app not loading but I'm guessing they would palm this off to a 3rd party or say I could have used another method.
Anyway, I had a PCN from these folks a few years back, appealed it, and the appeal lacked a POPLA code, and I subsequently got it cancelled. They said in response that they would make sure they'd include it from now on, but who knows if they have or not.
My plan this time was to wait for the 25/26 days and appeal each separately, but on top of everything else we have a premature baby just come back from the special care unit and life is hectic to say the least and really don't fancy a long winded fight and lots of admin. I'm a bit out of practice, so was hoping someone could help me understand that if my appeal does come back with the POPLA code on, how does that affect my half price window (the 14 days). I'm aware that's a big of a gimmick, but i'm having trouble understanding what would be involved from my side afterwards, and as much as it hurts am wondering that while time is extermely precious if I should just be paying it rather than a potential court hearing/loads of paperwork.
Thanks so much and I hope I've been clear - running on zero sleep atm!

My plan this time was to wait for the 25/26 days and appeal each separatelyWere these parking charge tickets applied to your windscreen (if so, your plan is good), if they are PCNs through the post, the 25/26 day strategy won't help, appeal immediately.while time is extermely precious if I should just be paying it rather than a potential court hearing/loads of paperwork. You're miles away from a potential court hearing. The 'discount' is a bribe to encourage you to cough up, not go to a POPLA appeal and the PPC risk the chance of losing, having to pay POPLA £30 a pop and get absolutely zilch from you. Once a POPLA appeal is made, the bribe is removed. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

If that is a method they offer for payment it should work, but of course they will say anything to feed their greed won't they.Dilby_2 said:I have screenshots of the app not loading but I'm guessing they would palm this off to a 3rd party or say I could have used another method.

Thanks for the reply. Yes they were placed on windscreen.
In regards to the 'discount', aren't I still at risk of losing that though and having to pay higher fee? I understand I'm miles away, but those miles could be filled with lots of admin and hassle right?0 -
You need to decide on how you play it. The reality of the bribe reduction exists, nothing you can do to change that. There is no easy route out (short of a landowner cancellation). But, do you really want to pay £120 to a private organisation for an easy life, which not only improves their obscene profit line, but gives them continued sustenance to further harass and intimidate other victims, many of whom will be vulnerable and will not be in any position to afford to buy themselves out of ongoing and increasing harassment? Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. those miles could be filled with lots of admin and hassle right? Not really. We've done all the work for everyone already. There is even a Template Defence that works well.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thanks for the reply. I remember one time it goes as far as court and I found the forms alone such a pain to fill out; I'm on the spectrum and in my case find things like that doubly as painful. Just looking at the newbies thread and going through it all I appreciate there's a template defence, and thanks for all the work you do, but it really does seem like only one step out of a whole heap of steps. With a newborn/work/general life I need to weight up if I have the brain space and energy.

Yeah i know what you're saying, thanks, but I'd rather bay £120 than £240 i guess. and if they're taken up a few of my evenings then I've let them win in another wayUmkomaas said:
