is there a stop on being able to switch my bank account to a nationwide flex account

    What do you mean by 'is there a stop on...'?  What account do you currently have?  Have you successfully opened a Nationwide account in order to start a switch?  Are you seeing some sort of error message when you're trying to do something?

    Where specifically in the process are you seeing this error (account opening, initiating the switch itself, somewhere else?) and what exactly does it say?  Which account are you trying to switch from, i.e. is it a full current account from one of the switching service participants?
  • i want to switch my halifax account to a nationwide flex direct account ; error comes up at the point you hit application form ; if you don't have a nationwide account ;just see if you are able to apply for one ? thanks in antisipation ?

    Many people have switched successfully, including my wife. 

    Have you checked with Nationwide to see if there is a known problem? 

    Have you tried trouble-shooting at your end, clearing cookies, using a different browser, restarting your device etc? 
  • tried two different browsers (message says ) (we are really sorry something went wrong;there was a technical issue ; please try again )
    spoke to local nationwide branch ;but they just gave me their head office number ; and you can only talk to them if you have a nationwide account ; might go for a first direct account since that seems to be ok.

    How to get your £200

    1. Log in to the Internet Bank. Not yet registered? Register for the Internet Bank.
    2. Select your existing FlexPlus, FlexDirect or FlexAccount.
    3. Choose Switch to Nationwide in the left-hand menu.
    4. Complete the application to do a full switch of your current account with another building society or a bank to your existing Nationwide account. This includes closing your old account as part of the switch.
    5. At the end of the application, pick a switch date within 60 days – any later and you won’t get the offer.
    6. We’ll complete your switch to Nationwide in 7 working days from when your account is opened. If you give us your mobile number, we’ll text you to let you know whether you qualify for the offer. And you'll be paid into your account within 10 days of completing your switch.


    Did you apply for a NW account, were accepted and did you registered for online banking?
    Did you log in?
    If you did, no way can you get a message like "if you don't have a nationwide account ;just see if you are able to apply for one"

  • now sorted ; banking firewall was blocking application
