I received a PCN off "Ocean Car Parking" (Acorn Security Services-Chester) stating that I had used their car park at the Peel Centre in Stockport.. Very nice notice which included photos entering and leaving the car park. I wrote to Ocean appealing their decision with proof of payment (bank statement) and an explanation that I had inadvertently typed one digit of the vehicle registration incorrectly.. Yep you've guessed right! Appeal rejected and a £60.00 fine.
They included screen shots of 'supposed computer searches' which apparently prove that no payment had been made for any vehicle registration similar to the vehicle in question which is a total FABRICATION and a LIE.
I have written to Ocean requesting a refund of the £3.00 parking fee! This company is fraudulent in the way they carry out business and I recommend that you avoid using any car parking owned by them.
as a footnote. The appeal reply was four pages long and obviously a 'standard reply letter' covering all eventualities and showed not a scrap of evaluation. To add insult to injury they signed off with the classic "This is the final decision and no further correspondence will be entered into".
Happy Days!

I assume you didnt pay up.
Its not a fine
Please show me exactly where the word fine has been used1 -
If you have evidence that it was a minor keying error (e.g. proof of payment by app, or a copy of your P&D Ticket) this will be easy to win at POPLA, assuming that Ocean are still in the BPA and offer POPLA in that rejection letter, but haven't offered to settle the case for £20 at least?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
