CPN Letter 4.5 years later

Hi all,
A little advice and reassurance would be appreciated.
A little advice and reassurance would be appreciated.
I received a Parking Charge Notice back in early 2018 from a private parking enforcement firm. I won’t go into the detail but I felt the charge was unjust and I contested (unsuccessfully) stating that I refused to pay. Further letters followed and I then started to receive calls from a debt collection agency. My stance was firm and the final call culminated in the offer of a discounted charge to settle, which not only did I decline but it justified my decision to stand firm. It felt like a last ditch attempt to get some money off me.
Fast forward to winter 2022, having not heard anything for close to 5 years, the letters from the Parking enforcement firm have started again saying I have 14 days to pay the outstanding sum. The letter isn’t dated but threatens that ‘legal proceedings could commence without further notice’. This has come at quite a stressfull time in life (for many) and it’s a hassle I don’t need. My first thoughts are that they have probably sent a letter to anyone on their database with payment still outstanding and are trying their luck to make a quick buck. The overthinker in me is concerned that this time around it might escalate? With it being so long ago, I have no documentation or recollection for the matter at hand, so any help, guidance, reassurance would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks and regards.
Thanks and regards.

CPS Midlands Ltd are the parking firm who sent this most recent letter. TNC Collections are the agency mentioned and who I expect to chip in soon.
Thanks0 -
Similar case the other day CPS Mids/TNC. It's a TNC initiative, they are harmless debt collectors, so standard advice is to ignore them - see NEWBIES FAQ Announcement, fourth post.
Come back if you receive a real Letter Before Claim from CPS's solicitors (not TNC!) or a court claim via the Northampton CCBC. Further forum help available then. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.
