Pending Applications Against the Title

Hello, we’re currently in the process of purchasing a property. We have been told by the vendors estate agents that there are pending applications against the title. Therefore unable to issue deeds and draft contracts at the moment.
Does anyone know a rough timeline on how this takes to get sorted as our solicitor has been unable to start on our case yet as they haven’t received the legal paperwork as this would be part of it.
Starting to worry as this is holding everything up at the moment.
Thanks for any help or advice.

If they apply for the applications to be expedited they would be done quickly, @Land_Registry often talks of 2 weeks if everything is in order, longer if there are queries.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages, student & coronavirus Boards, money saving boards. It might be a reason to hold up exchange/completion but no need to hold off from starting work in the meantime on draft contracts or examining what the title currently looks like - you should of course be getting advice from your solicitor, not the (vendor's) estate agent.3

Thanks for all of the replies. I have dug a bit deeper and found out that when the current owners remortgaged a few years ago the solicitor they used at the time didn’t notify land registry either incorrectly or not at all. This is being expedited so hopefully won’t take much longer. I have asked and asked and apparently none of the conveyancing can be started until this is sorted which is very frustrating!0
