Dividend Question relating to closing Interactive Investor Account

My late mum had a few shares via a trading account with ii she was paying £9.99 a month for. My Dad just wanted rid of them so we sold them all in Oct (settlement date was Oct 26th). We have just tried closing the account but the cash balance is not £0. It seems that today a dividend payment of £5.67 was made relating to Centrica (CNA) shares sold 3 weeks ago and is pending so we cant yet withdraw that cash. No issue to wait a day or so but then that got me thinking - what would have happened to that Dividend payment had we actually closed the account prior to today - and likewise how do we know if there are any pending dividends for 3 other shares we sold at the same time (HSBA, LLOY and AV.)?

If dividends were paid after an account was closed then the broker should contact the customer and make arrangements to pay.

Dividend declaration, ex-dividend and payment dates are readily available in the public domain - the websites of the companies concerned will offer this information, as will numerous independent sites such as the likes of https://www.dividenddata.co.uk/

Thank you for that link. Just checked all 3 and all dividends for 2022 have been paid already. Good to know.
