Parking ticket ES parking enforcement ltd

Hi,

I got a parking ticket sent to my address for parking my motorcycle where I always do - on the pavement in the corner, away from any obstructions outside of a Morrisons. They said I had to pay £70 then upped it to £170 a month later saying I have 14 days before they take action. In the ticket it states

“vehicle incorrectly parked within the lines of a bay”

I made the mistake of appealing the ticket online saying my motorcycle was parked on the pavement and not within the lines of a parking bay which they declined and said the following:

2. If you believe this decision is incorrect, the Independent Appeals Service (www.theIAS.org) provides an Alternative Dispute Resolution scheme for disputes of this type. As you have complied with our appeals procedure you may use, and we will engage with, the IAS Standard Appeals Service providing you lodge an appeal to them within 21 days of this rejection. For further information please visit www.theias.org.

Will they do anything or can I just ignore any further mail etc, do I have to pay because I accepted responsibility by relying to the email? Can I just ignore it from here?

Do I bother going through the IAS procedure?

Thank you to anyone that replies

    1.  Complain to Morrisons - Plan A in the NEWBIE sticky
    2.  Read the NEWBIE sticky
    3.  Are you England/Wales or Scotland
    4.  If you do 2. you will see that, generally, appealing to IAS is pointless.

It doesn't sound as if you have read the NEWBIES thread yet?  ...because everything you are asking about the IAS is covered in the 3rd post there.

And ignoring the debt demands after that, is in the 4th post.

Court (if it happens in the end, which must not be ignored) is covered in the second post of the NEWBIES thread.

  • I know I sound stupid right now but it’s all confusing to me and I don’t get it. I’ve read rhe NEWBIES thread.

I’m from England as someone asked before and I have already appealed and been denied once, I stated the motorcycle was not parked incorrectly or even within a bay.

Im going to try complain to the Morrisons as that’s the only thing I really understood from the NEWBIES

Post #4 about ignoring debt demands isn't hard to understand, I hope?

  • Not seen an ES pcn in a while but would have thought still non POFA.

Maybe too late for that in this case if driver has been declared ?

Well no, but I was more confused over this whole PCN thing - I have researched a bit and realised they haven’t provided me with a PCN number in the declined appeal, which is what’s gotten me confused. Going to get the pcn number off them tomorrow and do the POPLA appeal thingy.

    You can't.  This isn't a BPA firm.

That's why my first reply said:

"everything you are asking about the IAS is covered in the 3rd post there."

Read that tomorrow. It explains you can't use POPLA and cannot ask for a POPLA code from an IPC firm. And why not to touch the IAS farce.

Oh I see I see, apologies for the misunderstanding. I will read that tomorrow. Thank you
