A Microsoft account is an email address and password that you can use with Outlook.com, Hotmail, Office, OneDrive, Skype, Xbox, and Windows.

Yes, i managed that but the link first asks for your 365 account details.0

Does it?Well I'm not sure what you're doing but I just clicked on the link I posted (in fact I went to both of them) and not once on either of them did either of them ask for 365 details. To sign in, yes, but there was no mentions of 365.https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/microsoft-teams/free is the direct link to Teams Free.

The site definitely says you need a microsoft account....
Get a free version of Microsoft Teams (for work, school, or friends and family)
If you don’t have Microsoft 365 and you don’t use a business or school account, you can get a basic version of Microsoft Teams. All you need is a Microsoft account.
To get a basic free version of Microsoft Teams:Make sure you have a Microsoft account. If you’re using Skype, OneDrive, Outlook.com, or Xbox Live, then you already have an account, but if you don’t have one, it’s free to create a new Microsoft account.

A Microsoft account and a 365 account is not the same thing. They would, if you had 365, do the same job. But you don't, so its immaterial.I mentioned three posts up the thread that you need an MS account for Teams - its no different to needing a Google account for Play Store, or the Zoom account you already have. If you already had a Hotmail/Outlook/MSN account created at any point going back to probably 1996 then you can use that one for the Free Teams.1
