AMD Ryzen Processor

I am currently considering buying a new laptop which is listed in a Black Friday sale.  It has a processor AMD Ryzen 3 5425U; I'm not familiar with these processors as I always had Intel I3 or I5.  Can someone please give me some insight about the AMD processors or should I stick with Intel.

For 99.99% of people, it does not matter.

But it depends on your usage. What do you want to do with the computer? For normal web surfice, Word/Excel/Power Point type office work absolutely no impact.

Some professional grade programs don't work with non Intel chips. For example, Blender (to do Holywood grade animations) may not work with AMD (I used an older version, newer versions may be supported).

Happiness is buying an item and then not checking its price after a month to discover it was reduced further.

It's a laptop for general use.  No heavy gaming so it may well do for my needs.  Thank you for your reply

The current AMD processors are excellent.....I have the Ryzen 7 5700G and it's sucked up everything thrown at it so far.
That said, as movilogo say's it won't matter a jot in day to day usage for the vast majority of people.

AMD Ryzen processors are pretty much as good, if not better than their intel equivalents, eg Ryzen 3 = i3, Ryzen 5 = i5 etc, so no reason to avoid them.

Look at the CPU/GPU comparison sites to see where the AMD Intel compare over the generations.

Also look at the benefit of AMD v intel GPU to use cases.
