Online bank statements and DWP

At present I get paper bank statements but my postman is unreliable and often puts post through the wrong doors. This happened with one of my bank statements.  I am thinking of switching to online bank statements to avoid this situation, but I don't know if the DWP will accept online bank statements when they do savings checks. I am on ESA and will be going on my state pension next year.

You will need to print off the bank statements to send them to the DWP but ESA do accept them. The default position these days is to send in photocopies, not the original documents, so it doesn't matter if the bank statements were originally generated online.

Will the pension dept/pension credit dept. (if I have to apply for it) accept them as well?

Yes they will.

I once really couldn't afford to get a new printer (current one was very old and gave up the ghost) when having to send some bank statements in about three years ago. I asked the branch to print screen shots for me, which they did willingly. They have to give you paper copies if you ask, though it says they may charge a few pound for this service they did it for free for me after I requested it just the once.

This is good to know.  One of my friend's has a printer but it can be a bit temperamental, so this is good to know.  I see what you mean about the screen shots at the bank-at first I thought it meant I would have to take my computer in with me so that they could access it there, but of course they would also have a copy.
