Hi,

I've not had my electricity statement for October from Eon Next yet.   They have the necessary meter reading and they have updated my account with the direct debit amount plus the government £66 contribution for November, but no October bill.    They are normally pretty quick.   I chose paperless online, so no postal delays to account for the delay.

Anyone else having this problem?

Hi SP ... Yes me too.

I would normally have a bill generated on the 28th of the month, e-mailed to me and posted on the website but not the October 28th one, as with you all the details are there meter reading, transaction amount etc. I have phoned and e-mailed twice and am just about to phone again. The person I spoke to said it was because a payment was due and she couldn't release it (makes no sense) and the e-mail response stated that there was a system error and they were working on it so should be resolved shortly (that was 6 days ago).

I know from these forums that at least one other person has not had there bill and one has, however its becoming more concerning.

I had thought that all the details on the website were correct, but I'm now wondering whether they've c'ked up my tariff. I'm on fixed Next Online v9 DD E7, about a month ago my night rate was reduced to the Next Flex DD E7 night rate, unexpectedly but consistent with fixed tariffs above the EPG. This morning I checked on my IHD and it showed the old night rate!

I am speculating (guessing) that this is affecting E7 fixers.

I've not had a bill from Sainsburys, AKA Eon Next yet either, but not particularly bothered as there's plenty of credit, I know what it's going to be and I know they'll take it eventually.
I'm more confused that the that first month of the £66 government thingy went straight into my energy account and they reduced the DD to compensate, then the second month the £66 went in and they've now taken it back out (+£1) and put it in my bank account. Nothing like consistency.

I have spoken to E.ON Next Customer Service and the person I spoke to (highly competent) said that there was no problem that he could see with my account or bill but that there was a note to say the next bill (28th Nov) would be a combined Oct/Nov one.

This would have separate sections for 28th Sept to 30th Sept and 1st Oct to 28th Nov, it would show the HM Government Discount Energy Bills Support Scheme credits and reduced direct debits. He confirmed my tariff night rate has been reduced in line with policy.

He didn't know what the problem had been generating the bill on 29th Oct but could see the e-mail sent to me. I accepted that it was simpler to go with a combined bill than try to do a disassembly.

Hi Astria ... odd indeed. I've had two £66 credits to my Eon Next account (6th Oct & 1st Nov) and two DDs £67 less than usual credited on 7th Oct and 7th Nov.
  • dealyboy - No, I'm actually not on E7.      Single rate Next Flex  (SVR) electricity only.     Fortunately I'm currently well in credit, so am not concerned.    Still, I don't like inconsistencies when it comes to bills.

    Hello again stinker    :*

Well today I received my October statement (dated yesterday) all correct, readings up to 28th Oct and transactions up to 16th Nov. It even includes the previously missing 'load block alpha identifier' as "Postcode area alpha identifier:" underneath the supply address.

Do I think the agent (sorry energy specialist consultant) I spoke to yesterday had anything to do with it ...  ;)
  • This seems to happen fairly often, I've found a message on FB messenger and they get it sorted in under an hour

    Make £2024 in 2024...
  • dealyboy - yes, same here.

I eventually managed to get through on their customer line, and the agent sorted it out there and then and emailed the statement immediately.    No reason offered for the delay however.     I must check and see if my bill has a load block identifier too!

    stinker ...
