Can't change FIT registration

Hi,

I have solar panels that are registered with Scottish Power and have been earning from the energy generated.
I now want to move the registration to Octopus and get a better rate for what I'm generating.

Scottish Power say Octopus have to change FIT register, but Octopus say Scottish Power must do it. I escalated my ticket with Octopus and they have tried to contact Scottish
Power on my behalf but when I chased again today , Octopus replied saying they have had no reply.

This has been going on for weeks and I'm just stuck in the middle earning less than I should be earning.

Does anyone know for definite if it's the existing or the new company's responsibility please?

It makes sense that Scottish Power should release me, but they won't do it!

Thanks, Joy

FIT rates are set by OFGEM and don't change between suppliers as far as I know.  Perhaps suggesting that moving the registration of your FIT for "a better rate" is what is confusing everyone?

If you're talking about SEG rates - use that terminology instead and things might make more sense to them.

@sparkygrad is 100% right. You cannot get a better FIT rate for the units that your solar generates. What you can do is to agree to forego deemed export payments in favour of actual export payments under SEG.

Only you can know whether 50% of generation will realise more income than actual export under SEG. Before agreeing to SEG, Octopus will ask for your MCS Certificate and DNO sign off on your completed installation. It will then apply to your DNO for an export MPAN.

For what it is worth, I think that Scottish Power is correct. Here is the form that Bulb uses for FIT transfers:

    OK....

Thanks - I've completed every form Scottish Power asked me to fill in and all that Octopus asked me to send to them.

But I'll have another go with revised terminology.

First of all, do you have a smart meter installed or any form of export meter when your solar was installed, without either of those you cannot apply for seg export payments.
