  • Hi all

I've also a bit of stomach ache :( I understand that when women house share their bodies eventually end up in synch with one another, but an online forum?!:o

Had a bit of a problem earlier with the car. Drove off and on the first corner there was a noise a bit like a seagull squawking. I slowed down on the next corner and it stopped. Took the next corner and the noise came back but it got higher and more shrill and definitely coming from the passenger front wheel. Also a tiny grinding noise like I was running on the tyre rim  Pulled over and had a look. I'm on low profile tyres and in the cold they seem to need a bit of warming up. Pulled away and it did it again. Pulled over and almost phoned the RAC but as I wasn't a quarter of a mile from home knew I didn't qualify (I don't have Home Start - just the others) Decided to nurse it home but weirdly it was fine! Noise stopped!! Drove it to get my dog and no problems. Put some air in, it was a tiny bit down, but not much. So fingers crossed the cold had maybe just affected the wheel in some way. Car breaking down stuff always scares me . My last car had an oil leak which manifested itself in loads of smoke from the engine 10 days after I bought it and the car before started stalling and the steering wheel locking on roundabouts and corners towards the end of its life. And a locked steering wheel ain't funny halfway round a roundabout

should start work but I can't be bothered :o

Ooooh don't talk to me about car trouble! I have been having trouble with my gears for weeks, couldn't get outta first so was driving off in second and avoiding first gear altogether, now i have got first gear back but have lost reverse!!!! It makes parking impossible as you reverse more often than you think and route planning very difficult! Dropping Erin off and letting her walk to school as dropping off at school involves a 3 point turn which is impossible without reverse!!! I have no choice but to drive the car like this even though i'm pretty sure it's illegal. Big G is changing over the gear box tonight which will alleviate the problem i'm assured!

Also last week Big G changed the air filter in my car and inadvertantly dislodged some pipe or another and i kept breaking down on the a90, which is the busiest road in Aberdeenshire at 9am on a weekday. I called a very nice man, who can, but in the end G felt so bad he came and checked, replaced said pipe and i was on my way. Scary being broken down on such a busy road, it happenned about 3 times and each time i had to hurl myself onto the verge out of the way of speeding vehicles! Scary!!!

The car will be sold soon, it's starting to be a liability.

Could it have been something stuck in the wheel Keren? I've got Tasha asleep on my stomach, she makes a great hot water bottle. :D

Ellidee - we're staying at home for Xmas this year. I've invited my Mum and Dad, and Stu's Mum here for a meal. This is complicated slightly by the fact that I can't cook but after a few sherries, neither of the mums will care, and my Dad will probably fall asleep for most of the day anyway!

Maz - Ryan hasn't really got a main present as such, he's just asked for Doctor Who 'surprises' lol. He's got a Genesis Ark set (£30 in Toys R Us, but I got it for £12 in B&M :T), a Tardis, a laser screwdriver, some other Doctor Who figures.....he's ended up with tons, because I've been buying bits and pieces all year and I'd forgotten what I'd bought until I got them all together the other day.

Is everyone ready for Xmas now then? I still haven't done a list of 'last minute' things. I suppose I'd better do it now really, otherwise I will forget something. :o

I'd like a Dr Who surprise... but that's just wishful thinking on my part!

I guess possibly it could have been Snaggles. It has made me seriously think about getting a foot pump. I should check the air more in the tyres apparently something to do with them being boy racer ones.

Must be the time for car trouble, mine is missing its inside panel on the drivers side and has no proper lock. Doh, hopefully they can fix it tomorrow, another £60 later :(
