Stocks and Share or Savings?

Thanks for letting me join the forum.
I have a stocks and shares pension with Sanlam.
Each quarter statement shows that my pension is losing value.
Should I keep my money invested in stocks and shares or look for a savings plan that would be less risky?
I was born in 1965.
In the past eighteen months I have lost about £3,600.00
Hope you don't mind me asking what you think.

It has been a negative period on the stock market but it is picking up. Selling when stocks are low would just crystallise that loss. Leave them to recover.

Each quarter statement shows that my pension is losing value. That is highly unlikely unless you have been invested for less than a year. (and not every quarter this year has been negative).
2021 was positive as was 2020, despite it having a bigger loss period than the one seen this year. You have to go back to 2018 to see the last negative calendar year. So, if you are seeing drops every quarter then something is very wrong. In the past eighteen months I have lost about £3,600.00Markets generally started falling from the end of 2021. So, it should only be in the last 11 months. Not 18.

I had not heard of Sanlam, but a quick google shows they are an investment management company.
OP - Something seems to not add up.
You seem relatively poor in knowledge about investments/pensions, and you are concerned about relatively minor losses ( in pension terms).
On the other hand you are investing via a company, where their website seems to indicate that they are dealing mainly with higher net worth individuals/professional investors.

One needs a) stocks b) bonds c) cash. My preference is to use pension room for a) and b).0
