Wording of the use of ANPR cameras on T&C notice board

Hi all. I recently received a letter from Debt Recovery Plus for £170 relating to unpaid parking fine*. I am now at the "TERMINAL NOTICE PRE-LEGAL ACTION" letter stage, and frankly, have my head in the sand somewhat. However, I did recently visit the carpark to review the signage and noticed something that doesn't sit right with me, so I thought I'd run it by those more knowledgeable on here.
The Terms & Conditions board states "The automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) cameras in this car park are used for the prevention and/or detection of crime, and insurance purposes, and the Data collected may be shared with the third for these reasons".
My understanding is that parking on private land is classed as trespass, which is not a crime. Therefore, the "data" collected by the ANPR cameras is being used in contradiction to the T&C's. Is this something I can use? It seems very suspect to me. Better still, is this grounds for a counter collective action lawsuit?
*I parked at a railway station, got on my train, reached for my phone to pay the parking fee, read a message telling me the meeting I was on my way to was cancelled so got off the train at the next station (10 mins away). Waited nearly an hour for a train to take me back, and left the car park forgetting to pay. Max drop-off time is 20 minutes. All day parking charge is £4.60. I've used the station many times as shown on my APCOA app.

Oh it's just APCOA. Ignore them and DRPlus. Perfectly safe.
But what you could do us report APCOA to the Information Commissioner for that wording. It is wrong.
Don't do anything until you are 6 months past the parking event date. APCOA call these railway penalties and as such, it times out by six months. Scam over.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thanks for the quick response. I did initially try to appeal via the APCOA website, pretty much stating my case as above. Will this go against me if I now try to ignore it?Coupon-mad said:Oh it's just APCOA. Ignore them and DRPlus. Perfectly safe.

I'm glad I'm not alone in thinking that wording is wrong. Good idea to report them. I was hoping they were breaking the law, given how strict the sharing of personal identifiable information is these days.0 -
As long as this is headed up PENALTY charge (not parking charge?) it times out soon. But check that.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

The box in the corner of my most recent later does say 'Parking charge'. It sounds like this makes a difference?Coupon-mad said:As long as this is headed up PENALTY charge (not parking charge?) it times out soon. But check that.

So do what I first advised you to do:Oh it's just APCOA. Ignore them and DRPlus. Perfectly safe.
