Eon next Creative Accounting
My Current bill from Eon next, is this
creative accounting at its best ?:
Sub Total of charges before VAT:...£94.29
VAT@5%..............................£4.71
Total Electricity Charges..........£89.00
HM Gov Discount Energy Bills Support
Scheme (Vat0%).....................£66.00
Sub Total Credits befor VAT.......-£66.00
VAT@0%..............................£0.00
Total of Credits..................-£66.00
Total Charges before VAT...........£28.29
Total VAT...........................£4.71
Total Charges for bill.............£33.00
Which effectively calculates Vat against a fictitous amount.
I would expect the following:
Sub Total of charges before VAT:...£94.29
HM Gov Discount...................-£66.00
Sub Total befor VAT................£28.29
VAT@5%..............................£1.41
Total Charges for bill.............£29.70
Can Anybody agree

no because the vat is due on your use before the goverment discount.
the goverment are basically paying part of your bill for you. not making part of your bill 'free'.
the problem is the software wasnt designed for what its being used for so it looks like a discount before vat on the bill when actually its treated as a credit just like your dd.Almost everything will work again if you unplug it for a few minutes, including you. Anne Lamott
It's amazing how those with a can-do attitude and willingness to 'pitch in and work' get all the luck, isn't it?
Please consider buying some pet food and giving it to your local food bank collection or animal charity. Animals aren't to blame for the cost of living crisis.5 -

Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –
