Car insurance NCD after having company car

Hi,
I currently have a company car provided as benefit in kind and haven't had my own car for 7 years. I am now looking at a new employer so need to buy a car, get insurance etc. Before my current company car I had maximum no claims discount (over 15+ years of no claims) - how best to get new insurance and try get my max no claims discount? I believe I can ask my current employer to write a letter to say I've had no claims/accidents while having the company car which might be accepted?

I haven't yet accepted the job so can't yet ask my employer for the letter without raising suspicions!  :)

Your old personal NCD is lost.

You can ask your existing employer's company car department to provide you with a letter stating you have had company car for 7 years and no claims have been made. Depending on company, the letter may be provided directly by the insurance company themselves also.

If you don't want to raise suspicions, you can tell your employer that you are looking to get a personal car insurance cover for a new car and the insurance company you have spoke with has agreed to mirror your no claims bonus on company car to provide you with the best possible price.

The aggregators enable you to say the source of your NCD and so if you choose company car then the prices shown will reflect if they accept it or not.
