TSB - can’t open account online?

I had an account with them (now closed) but still have my logins onto online banking. Wouldn’t let me open an account for the 3-year fix on the app, I am wondering if it’s because I lack a current account with them?

wonder if it’ll work if I set up a current account first….

Have you tried doing it by completing the ID check first?

If you no longer have any accounts with them, some banks cancel your login details.

Bit of an update, so I tried opening a fixed account without logging in prior… that worked but now I have a whole new online banking ID and logins. 

I also have my sort code and account number. However, I need to wait 7 days before getting my authentication code to open my online banking account. 

Just wondering if it is safe to just send over money now, but have no way of telling if it has arrived or not in the account until I get my online banking up and running?

Not sure,  but you only have 10 working days to fund your new fixed rate account?

Just a bit of an update: so yesterday I sent over a bit of money as soon as I got confirmation that my account is opened. I had no idea if the transfer made it or not, and no one I could call at TSB as it was the weekend. No telephone or internet banking set up. 

I rang them this morning and TSB said that they can see the money, so every thing is fine. I said a prayer and sent over the rest of my deposit 🤣 fingers crossed it gets there. 

It’s a bit shoddy though… that the online banking auth code is sent by post within 7 days and you only have 10 days to fund the account. All it takes is a bit of postal delay and you may miss the boat.
