Best use of solar Panels.

I am fortunate to have bought a property a few years ago with an array of 18 solar panels, the first 9 installed in 2009 and the second 9 in 2011. I receive FIT payments and have been very pleased with the extra income from them. My question is this - if I use electricity during the day when the panels are generating are those units taken off the generation figure, thus reducing the FIT payment or is it free energy for me to use during the day?

You are paid for all the units generated under FIT plus 50% of all units generated attract an export payment. If you were able to use all the units in your home, you would still get the same income. Fill your boots.2
