This might be a silly question but would attempting to study a government-funded short online course (14-20 wks) affect my LCWRA at all? Whether I managed to complete it or not.

EDIT: for clarification as I didn't explain myself well - I was concerned this might lead to some sort of reassessment for simply trying an online course funded by them. It doesn't contradict my claim, but my worry is still there just in case they see it differently.

If it's part time course this will not affect your UC. You were also given some advice on this in a previous thread here. https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6356149/uc-unable-to-work-distance-learning-student#latest

Thank you, I appreciate your reply. I'm asking specifically about government-funded courses as opposed to in general like I did in the past. Perhaps I should have added it to the end of an old thread regardless, but I'm not asking the same thing here which is why I didn't consider that. Government-funded free courses with places like Netcom, Creative Alliance, etc. aren't the same as me paying for a distance learning course.

The answer is still the same ( providing there's no maintenance loan available to you but there isn't usually for this type of course.)

Thank you again, but I'm not sure I've made the reason I'm asking clear, and that's my error.
What I'm concerned about is if by me attempting an online course, it will somehow lead them to think my disability isn't affecting me. I know this might sound like a stupid anxiety to have, but there it is.

No it shouldn't lead to them looking at doing a reassessment etc, unless the course contradicts what you have declared you can/can't do on your claim forms.

You're right it wasn't clear. I can't see how doing an online course would have any affect on your LCWRA. If you were actually attending college then this maybe different.

Thank you both. There's no reason it should, it doesn't change or contradict anything I've declared, I wasn't sure how such things were viewed from their end so I wasn't sure if I should just leave it or not.

(I've edited my original post to make it clearer)
