Direct Debit glitch
fly-catchers

I moved to Santander in late September and moved various DD to it to benefit from the cashback. All appeared correctly apart from Southern Water. I changed my bank detail with them via my online account with them. And it showed Santander and I got an email confirmation. However no payment went out and I got a chase up email from Southern Water. When I went on their site there was no DD set up. So I used their online chat and explaining to the person set it up again. They already knew my new bank details. They amended my amount to cover my missing months payment. And the next is due now in December. This time my DD has appeared with Santander. However I am still getting emails and one letter chasing me up over this non payment. Also when i checked today on the southern water website it looked again as if no DD is currently setup! Did try and phone Southern water but only got a automated service! Is it likely my next payment will go out or is glitched again? What should I try next?

If Southern Water have the correct details then one can only presume this is a problem on their side. Have you tried manually setting up a direct debit on their website? If all else fails then a complaint to them might be neccessary.

The first time I tried to change my existing DD on the southern water web site manually it did seem to work. Though it never appeared on the Santander web site. Though I did get an email from southern water confirming the change. The second time was via their operative on the southern water site. Where I haven’t had it confirmed by email. But it is now showing on the Santander site. But looking at southern water site there is now no details of it!WillPS said:If Southern Water have the correct details then one can only presume this is a problem on their side.
