My notepad has vanished

How do I get it back?

I tried downloading from MS Store but it won't let me even though it shows 'Install' but clicking on it does nothing.

Have you tried typing "notepad" into the Taskbar 'Type here to search' box?

i believe notepad.exe is located in c:/windows/system32

Just type notepad in the run box it will open. Right click windows logo on task bar run will be near the bottom.

For some inexplicable reason I've lost the search from the taskbar now.

I can call up Notepad from a search (which isn't on the taskbar) but how do I now get it pinned to taskbar plus now 'search'.

Edited: I just managed to pin Notepad to taskbar so my question now refers to the search option.

Right click taskbar --> Search --> Show Search box

While you are there, under search is "news and interests", turn that off and all the clickbait goes away from the taskbar
