Second letter county court business centre

I will apologise first as I know new threads are last resort - I have genuinely read all the stages of the newbie threads and I’m still lost in terms of the process and where I am and what options I have
I have today received a letter from county court business centre saying I have not replied to a claim form and not the bill/fine is £290 this was issued on 3rd Nov.
I believe this relates to over staying at a McDonald’s car park around 2 years ago. I have never responded to any letter ever in respect of this. Only now I am thinking is this getting messy and have I done the wrong thing.

I don’t know who the landowner is I will drive there later to check signs.
I have read all the threads in the newbie about SAR etc and other options but I’m none the wiser
can someone just bullet point what I should I do if possible.

What is that letter from the CCBC? Is it a General Notice of Judgement or Order. Does it award a judgment in default to the claimant because you did not respond to the claim form, complete your AoS or file a defence?1

Hi thanks for the reply - top of letter states judgement for claimant (in default)
claimant is a civil enforcement company based in Liverpool0 -
It gives me the option at the bottom of the letter saying if I have replied to the claim form and the judgement is entered wrongly I can apply for it to be set aside0
-
Then you have, assuming you do not want to have a CCJ on your credit record for six years, two options, the first being to get it set aside as per the suggestion in the letter, the second to pay it in full before the deadline date. Currently the fee for aa set-aside is £275 unless you are on benefits and can get "help with fees". Ask Auntie Google about that.deadeye090909 said:It gives me the option at the bottom of the letter saying if I have replied to the claim form and the judgement is entered wrongly I can apply for it to be set aside1 -
I am sorry but you have reached the end of the road by wrongly ignoring a court claim. You have been mugged and must now pay in full (not instalments) to avoid a CCJ ruining your credit for 6 years.deadeye090909 said:It gives me the option at the bottom of the letter saying if I have replied to the claim form and the judgement is entered wrongly I can apply for it to be set aside
No-one here tells anyone to ever ignore a court claim form, which you must have done in September/October. The entire second post of the NEWBIES threadis dedicated to how to defend a court claim (and we win 99% of the time). There is only one final step (after you've rung the solicitors and paid it in full) for you to do. We sincerely hope that you are au fait with the need to respond to the final Government Public Consultation?
Hopefully - amongst all the political disruption - it will be open by January or so. Can't see it published before Christmas now.
Just checking you are among those ready to respond to the questions as you have personal experience of how this crap feels?
Please come back here when it opens, and you can make sure you don't miss the Consultation:
If you are not a regular reader, to be alerted you'll need to bookmark the thread by MSE_JC at the top of the forum and enable (on your profile) email alerts for bookmarked threads.

Ok thank you my fault
will have to suck this one up but at least I know the procedures for any future issues0 -
Having read newbie thread 4 - ignore the debt recovery plus letters, what should I have done after that, would it have been to respond to the first business county court letter? What should I have responded with in that letter? I only ask as I have another one 😩
it’s not got to that stage yet as I’m having the letters from debt recovery plus
Should I request the info when the first letter arrives from the business county court which I imagine it will at some point now0 -
The second post of the NEWBIES thread explains the whole court process starting with a Letter of Claim.deadeye090909 said:Having read newbie thread 4 - ignore the debt recovery plus letters, what should I have done after that, would it have been to respond to the first business county court letter? What should I have responded with in that letter? See you if you get a LBC for the next one, or when you come back here having registered to be alerted when the Public Consultation opens.
