Does your smart meter do this?

Weird title - and I'm sorry about that.
We have a smart meter installed and being perfectly honest although 'aware' of what it says - not really looked into it that much.
Anyway - with the rise in Cost of Living - and with our heating being used now in November - I've got an issue with my smart meter - or the information it shows - and dont know what figures to use or to trust?

Anyway - here is an example - but its happening everyday.

Monday 8th November
Smartmeter on the day and on the BG app shows we used
£3.21 Gas & £3.37 Electricity.

I look on the following day - and go back to show the results from Mnoday 8th Nomember
They now show

£1.46 Gas and £1.67 Electricity.

I know that they say they are approximate - but the settings are live for Elctricity (10 seconds scan?) and 30 minutes for Gas.

Is it real that these 'smart meters' are really reading on the day over double what the actual usage is?

From a budgeting point of view - what do I do - do I base the bill on the £6.58 for the day - or the £3.13?

The example above I replicated all this week.....

Any ideas - BG dont seem to be able to answer the question.

I think you're talking about your IHD (in home display) rather than your actual smart meter which will be attached to the wall somewhere in a cupboard/the garage/outside wall of your house.

The IHD has the pricing information updated by your energy company. By going through various settings you should be able to find what unit costs it is using to calculate your daily figures. It seems to me they probably haven't yet been updated since the price increase on 1st October.

Try altering the IHD to show how many kWh you use each day and see if this matches your bills.
