DFS Split Order Delivery Question?

Got a very strange question about an unfulfilled split order delivery that's now several weeks late.

Looking for advice rather than having a go at DFS but after a good search on these forums and others, but can't see it anywhere.

We ordered 2 items mid-summer for 1/ Late September delivery and 2/ Nov 16th they told us at the deal was struck for nearly 4k of goods and that 7 days before the delivery of an ottoman base costing 500 quid we had to pay a cash deposit payment after a phone call of 750 pounds which we did by bank transfer that was 6 weeks ago and since then we have heard nothing at all.

Are they in breach of the contract going forward for non-delivery and wrongfully asking for monies without goods being ready to deliver per the contract terms of split DFS deliveries, today we got our first email notification that our second delivery of the sofa is delayed by 10 further days.

It was a joint order made in our local store with the balance by independent finance through DFS more for our protection rather than need.
