Cheapest portable heater?

If you want a more permanent and genuinely cheaper to run solution then a split air to air heat pump (basically air conditioning with heating mode) would be worth considering. Contrary to the often stated "1kW of electricity creates 1kW of heat", with these units 1kW of electricity typically outputs 4kW of heat - the additional 3kW being extracted from the outside air via a refrigerant and a compressor pump.
It's baffling why these are completely ignored in the energy forum.0 -
i dont think there ignored. i've seen a few threads talking about them when they've been something that met the bill but the thread was asking for a portable heating solution. an air to air pump might be a good option but its not a small upfront cost and the op might not want to (or be able to) install something that requires holes putting in the house walls.Petriix said:If you want a more permanent and genuinely cheaper to run solution then a split air to air heat pump (basically air conditioning with heating mode) would be worth considering. It's amazing how those with a can-do attitude and willingness to 'pitch in and work' get all the luck, isn't it?
Please consider buying some pet food and giving it to your local food bank collection or animal charity. Animals aren't to blame for the cost of living crisis.1
