When should  VAT be added to your bill, i have  VAT added twice to my bill once before Government Discount, then again after, is this right ?

I very much doubt that VAT is being added twice, can you post a screenshot of the calculation please?

The bills can get a little confusing when applying discounts and payments as it is necessary to add VAT to the cost first, or to remove VAT from the payment/discount and then add the VAT back at the end, as the discounts/payments have to be applied to the total cost including VAT, but this isn't something that the suppliers tend to get wrong, but they do often present it in a confusing way...

You are not with EDF by any chance are you who do the confusing thing of applying a discount per kWh

Or with UW who take the vat element off the amount you pay rather than charging it on the energy you purchase - and goodness knows how they are coping with the government discount allowing that they can't manage manually made payments to energy accounts!
