Help Dealing With Car Dealer - Faulty Car

Happy New Year MSE Forum!!
Still no car back (2+ months later) 😂
However, TODAY, I found out that there was a hole in the fuel pump that lead to metal fillings inside the tank. This is what the dealership are saying.
Does anyone know what this means? I typed in ‘hole in fuel pump’ into google but the results do not seems to be meaningful. it says that this is a common problem in cars 30-60 years old which isn’t making sense to me.0 -
I guess it depends on what caused the hole and what the garage are doing to rectify it.
If it's caused by damage ( something hitting it ) then I guess a repair would be ok, but if it's erosion or similar I'd want a new one.0 -
Where is the fuel pump located? Sounds a strange one to me.0

I haven't had an accident and the car hasn't been involved in any accidents that I am aware of.DE_612183 said:I guess it depends on what caused the hole and what the garage are doing to rectify it.

The dealership have been vague when I asked for information about the damage and repair. All they said was there is a hole in the fuel pump that has lead to metal filings inside the fuel tank.
They are awaiting for parts to replace the fuel system next week.Flight3287462 said:Where is the fuel pump located? Sounds a strange one to me.
I have no idea. It's a Ford Kuga 2018 if that helps.
