HSBC credit card interest charges

in Credit cards
I took out a HSBC credit card as it had a long 0%interest for balance transfers. It also had a 0% interest rate on spending for a short period. I feel like I have been tricked. So I started using my credit card as for several reasons I didn’t have enough money coming in, so used it to buy essentials. There was one month where I payed off less than I had spent, and as soon as I had money I started to pay as much off as possible. They have started charging me interest and I’m pretty annoyed. I think I just assumed this card would be like others I have had before and that my payments would go off the highest interest part of what I owed first but hsbc works ?differently and while both balance transfers and purchases were 0% interest they took my repayments off the balance transfer as this was the oldest amount owed then when the 0% finished on spending I started to pay that bit off but now they’re charging me interest and I will be paying interest until the full amount is payed off (hopefully in a month or 2) but I’m just so annoyed I feel like I have been duped into spending money and now I’m stuck paying interest until it’s payed off even though I have payed back more than I spent in purchases. Is there anything I can do about this? According to their order of repayments this is right but I’m sure when I have had other cards this has not been the case, are they doing anything wrong for me to question it?

So you've read the T&C's, you've understood how payments are allocated, they are allocating payments as per the T&C's. I don't quite understand what you think they've done wrong.laurab2170 said:According to their order of repayments this is right but I’m sure when I have had other cards this has not been the case, are they doing anything wrong for me to question it?For all credit cards, payments are allocated to the highest-rate debt first. When you have two promotional rates running concurrently, different cards will allocate payments differently. Some will prioritise payments to the deal which started first, some will prioritise the deal that ends first. But it's all laid out in the T&C's3
