Morning
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Very dark start to the day.
DH and DS1 getting ready for work, I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and my porridge whilst on here. DS2 settled and happy..
Dinner last night was a cook from frozen stuffed chicken breast - I over cooked it so it shrunk, threw some sausages into the air fryer to make it stretch, served mash, veg and gravy with it, it was delicious though. Tonight I'm not sure.
Now on days' off - so will be busy today with lots of things to get done.
Keep safe and well x

Good morning, thanks for starting NMLC. Don't work too hard, it is your days off!I was out yesterday meeting a friend for coffee, we have decided that now our Friday night gang has shrunk to just the two of us we'll meet during the day, in the winter at least. We were sitting in one of the cafes in our little town, and an old man who was leaving commented that we'd never stopped talking since we'd gone in! We are both good talkers though, and had had met up to talk! While I was out I had news from the daughter of another old friend that her mother had passed away on Tuesday, I was shocked, she had been ill I know, but hadn't expected this. She was one of our Dobb*es gang, which has now shrunk to two as well. It's our other old friend's funeral tomorrow, I hope the weather stays fine-ish for that.Sorry folks, don't mean to depress anyone with this talk of death and funerals.Izzy. congratulations on your weight loss, you've done so well!Coxy, sorry to read that you'd missed the deadline for the job you had applied for - hope there'll be another one soon.Good to see you Mehefin. We are going away for the weekend after the funeral tomorrow, it's been arranged for a few months. We are meeting up in North Yorks with one of my nephews and his friend. Should be nice, we are staying in a National Trust owned cottage near Ripon. My nephew works for the NT at the moment, so he got it a bit cheaper.. We'll be back on Monday, but it'll be a nice little change.Hope everyone has a good day, thinking of those who are not well or fed up.Take care folks..10

Morning All
Very windy out this morning but fairly mild.
I'm running a bit late this morning as I had a late night, the Book of Mormon was brilliant, even the language/references were ok, not as bad I had been led to believe.
Sorry to hear of your friend's passing scarlet.
I'll catch up with everyone's news later.
Take care. XX11 -
Morning all. Very windy in Glasgow too, seems to be getting worse. The drive down yesterday was very wet until just outside Glasgow where it was dry, at least for a while. I took a pile of things to Barnardo's, two bags to the big dump, collected a JL order fro Waitrose, parked my car and took the subway into town. The showing of 'Living' turned out to be a silver screen one for old biddies, of which I am one. 😀 It came with a free tea or coffee and a piece of cake - a nice surprise. Of course, it was fairly busy, two women next to me had a bottle of wine and nachos with guacamole at their seat, a real party going on. I was more modest with a glass of white wine! I enjoyed the first half of the film enormously but thought it tailed off suddenly. Lovely to see Tom Burke (Cormoran Strike) again, he played such a great role. This morning I'm booked to see 'The Banshee...', then I have a beauty appointment and in the evening it's 'House of Mormon' - a packed day, makes up for all my idleness.Camelot - thanks for the review, glad that you enjoyed it.Scarlet - such is life 🙁 I'm so sorry that you're losing friends. Once the funeral is over I hope that you have a good time this weekend. Not sure if you'll post tomorrow morning.I hope that that everyone is doing well. Happy Thursday to all.9

Morning all
Dry here but cloudy but no rain due today which is nice. Off to collect my private client today and take him to my old work which is always enjoyable especially as we leave when we likewill pop in and do a bit of shopping when we have finished.
DD has the day off today so she will be on dog walking and dinner duty, cottage pie tonight which is always lovely on a cold day.
I bought some paint yesterday so tomorrow I am going to paint the walls in the lounge, we have either side of the chimney breast papered and thats still fine but the walls are looking a bit grubby, i think its from the log burner so I shall freshen them up a bit.
Scarlet sorry to hear about your friend xx
Izzy well done on your weight loss xx
Have good days all xx9 -
Morning everyone
It seems quite mild this morning but is to get wild and windy later. The council have just spent the last couple of days putting the fence down the side of the field next to my house back up - it blew down in the storm last November! Hope they've made a good job or it could be down again.
Little one spent some of yesterday here with me as DD had a hair appointment. We had a lovely time playing with lots of chat and cuddles. She's on antibiotics for tonsilitis and still not 100/ but DD says she's so much better than she was - she has a funny croaky little voice though.
Not at work till lunchtime today - I have some shopping from yesterday's shopping delivery to take down to mams and will have a cuppa with them.
I'd better get moving really.
Hope everyone has a good day. Take care all x9 -
Morning all
Meant to be a nice day here today. I had a busy day yesterday so today will catch up with ironing, shopping and maybe make a few little cakes. We have DGS here for the day on Saturday and I won't have time to make anything tomorrow as we're out with friends.
DH is still recovering from a cold so hasn't been up to doing much. I'd like him to look at one of the side lights on my car as it stops working intermittently and a warning symbol comes up. Think it's just a poor contact but it's annoying.
Have defrosted a large pork steak and will do that in the slow cooker with some leeks, onions and veggie stock, ready to have later with green veg.
Happy Thursday everyone.7 -
Morning all, thanks for starting nmlc.Scarlet, so sorry to hear about your friends, but enjoy your break.Last night DS2 decided they wouldn't stay for tea as he'd stocked up and didn't want to waste it, but he dropped DGD here before he trecked over town for DGS, she said she was hungry & could she have some tinned tomato soup so he agreed to that
. We had beef stroganoff once they'd all gone, quick version made with some stir fry beef from the sm delivery. It was ok but not as good as the butchers version.
I was a bit miffed yesterday as although the Oc**o delivery was good, I realised checking the receipt that I hadn't been given the 25 % off for a first time customer. I'd seen the offer on FB and clicked the link to the site and thought it would be done automatically :.Checked the comments and it seems I wasn't the only one ,and they had a reply saying message them with the details so I did that. They were quick getting back to me, and the upshot was I should have seen the banner with a code on.I had looked but obviously with it being unfamiliar to me I missed it! and I spent more than usual adding Xmas extras.
I don't think I'll be going out today unless I have a quick walk, don't want to leave pooch on her own as when I'm out she prefers to either go down into the cellar or up on the landing & I think she's strained her leg and is struggling with stairs a bit.I might even start writing my cards out - we've had our 1st onealready, old friends who moved to Australia.
Have a good day all x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)8 -
Morning folks and thanks NMLC. I'm with you at last but I have been a busy bee and feel as though I have a done a day's work already! So having a coffee break!
Yesterday's bus outing ended up rather a soggy one! No rain was forecast but on the bus trip the heaven's opened and we had a biblical downpour complete with hailstones battering the bus windows. In parts the road was flooded. Not seen rain like it for a long time. We dodged in and out of a few shops before heading for an early wine 'n dine lunch. It was very quiet so I guess other folk weren't as hardy (or crazy!) as us! We enjoyed our day out regardless and by the time we were heading back for the bus it has stopped raining.
After 3 days of skiving and scoffing I decided today I needed to get stuck into some jobs and get back into some sensible eating. Some jobs have already been done and a pot of lentil & carrot soup made to accompany my lunches. The washing is festooning the back bedroom as I doubt it would do much drying outside. It looks too dark and gloomy though no rain is forecast. I need to start looking at dehumidifiers with laundry mode for this winter's washing.
SCARLET I hope tomorrow's funeral goes as well as it can. GERS enjoy your viewing/watching day. COXY sorry you missed the job deadline. Fingers crossed something else turns up soon. Have a good day folks and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies or fed up. Take care and be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"8
