    What? Have you actually read the OP? Take special care to understand 'the old meter was set wrong' I've not mentioned getting my MP involved in anything to do with PPM's being more expensive than quaterly meters.

    anniecd1 - Some suppliers charge/ request a deposit to exchange a meter from prepayment to standard (direct debit etc) if the customer has not been with them for atleast 12 months.

    How long have you been with your current supplier? Have you been with them at a previous address?

    I have only been with my current supplier for 5 months and have never had a supplier before.

    change suppliers ad you will find most of them will change the meters free of charge.
    i moved house last april and there is a policy with swansea city cuncil that when a property is vacatted they sign it over to scottish power.
    the property was dual pp meters s when i contacted scot power they wanted £90 per meter to change and go dd i changed over to swalec and asked them to change the meters which they did free of charge and ithin 2 week of beingthier customer.

    Thanks have just phoned hydro electric who are willing to change my meter free of charge.
    am now lookong forward to paying less for my electric
